In deze workshop onderzoeken we hoe ver een cursus of programma is met de implementatie van blended learning in het curriculum. De doelgroep van deze workshops zijn met name docenten die aan de slag gaan met vragen als: hoe flexibel is ons curriculum? In hoeverre worden studenten gefaciliteerd in zelfsturend leren? Is er sprake van afstemming v.w.b. tools over het hele programma? Tijdens de sessie wordt in dialoog toegewerkt naar het formuleren van concrete vervolgstappen voor de implementatie en adoptie van blended learning op programma- en cursusniveau. Daarbij wordt aandacht besteed aan verschillende implementatiemodellen en inzichten uit de literatuur. De deelnemers doen een korte zelfscan over de implementatie van blended learning in hun eigen onderwijs, en gaan daarover in gesprek.

Barend Last (1986) begon als leerkracht in het basisonderwijs, waar zijn passie voor onderwijsinnovatie ontstond. Hij interesseerde zich vooral voor de vraag: “waarom doen we eigenlijk wat we doen?” en stroomde daarom door naar de wetenschappelijke wereld. Hij werkte onder meer als schoolleider, ondersteuner en onderwijsmaker in verschillende lagen van het onderwijs. Inmiddels werkt hij als onderwijskundig adviseur bij de Universiteit van Maastricht. Hier houdt hij zich bezig met de implementatie van blended learning, met een focus zowel op goede inzet van ICT, als het benutten van de fysieke onderwijsruimte. Naast zijn vaste baan is Barend auteur van verschillende (kinder)boeken en werkt hij als zelfstandig spreker en trainer. Lees meer op www.barendlast.com.

In this workshop, you will look into the implementation of blended learning in your programmes and courses. Where do they stand in regards to the implementation? And what is yet to be achieved? How flexible is the curriculum? To what degree are students facilitated in self-regulated learning? Is there agreement on the tools used throughout the programme or course? The target group of this workshop is teaching staff, and during the workshop, participants will be working on formulating action points to improve the implementation of blended learning into the curriculum. Different implementation models and relevant insights from the literature will be used. Participants start with a short self-scan about blended learning in their own education and build upon this in dialogue.

Barend Last (1986) started his career in primary education, where he discovered his passion for educational innovation. He was mainly interested in answering the question: why do we do what we do? Therefore, he continued his journey into higher education and research. He worked in educational administration, design and support, at different levels of education. At the moment, he works as an educational advisor at Maastricht University, where he focuses on the implementation of blended learning. He is keen to use IT in education, as well as combining this with physical learning spaces. Barend also writes children’s books, and he is an independent speaker and trainer.
